Heligoland May 2025

Heligoland is home to Germany’s only breeding colony of Northern gannets, making it a truly unique destination for seabird enthusiasts and nature photographers alike. The island’s steep red cliffs host five breeding seabird species, which form the core of its vibrant colony: around 2,000 pairs of Northern gannets, 4,000 pairs of common guillemots, 80 pairs of razorbills, 4,000 pairs of black-legged kittiwakes, and 50 pairs of Northern fulmars.
