Heligoland May 2025

Heligoland is home to Germany’s only breeding colony of Northern gannets, making it an amazing destination for watching and photographing seabirds. The island’s steep red cliffs host five breeding seabird species, which form the core of its colony: around 2,000 pairs of Northern gannets, 4,000 pairs of common guillemots, 80 pairs of razorbills, 4,000 pairs of black-legged kittiwakes, and 50 pairs of Northern fulmars.
